I guess I will not blow my top if you decide the label suits me. But, truth be told, I woke up this morning thinking about the goings on in Ghana. Yes I mean just that, the African Cup of Nations. Something tells me this will be another disappointing showing by the chipolopolo boys!
I mean, look at the happenings in the build-up to the tournament! First, Tana misses the plane (or was it the plane that missed him!). Then Mbesuma is declared unfit. No, that's not all for it surely gets worse. After some politicking, Tana and Nkausu are sent to join the team enroute to Ghana, only to be told they are not part of the game plan! Wish I could call it poor planning but from where I stand, it does not even qualify to be called 'planning.'
So here I am, poor me. Every time Zambia is taking part in this or other tournament I tell my heart not to pay attention, not to care, for fear of the obvious. But does this my old heart learn? Let's just say, despite myself, I have to wish the lads all the best as I, in the same breath, urge my heart to summon the strength I know it will surely need to survive the coming torment..... Do I hear you say I might be wrong? Tell you what, this is certainly one case I hope I am!!
